This is my extra credit chip dip bowl that I made by throwing on the wheel. This project required opening twice as you can see with the plate portion and bowl portion. I stained cobalt wash flowers on the plate part as well as some pink, green, and a little purple and yellow. After it was fired I glazed white throughout the entire platter. The art elements expressed are color and the design elements expressed are pattern and emphasis on the flowers. This project gives off a spring-like feel.

This is my extra credit bowl in which I threw on the wheel, as well as throwing extra large to get the form of my bowl. I decided that with the large surface of the bowl I would create designs and patterns. I first used the cobalt blue stain to make the outline of the flowers before it was put in the bisque. After that I glazed pink, yellow, green, and red within the flowers to create a happy feeling. The art elements expressed in my bowl are color and value. My design elements are emphasis and pattern. This is my hand and wheel project in which I did by throwing on the wheel. I had made a cylinder which got off center so I formed it to create a wheel alter look spout. As well as that, I added a handle to make it a pitcher. I glazed it forest green and painted some white on top as well. The art elements expressed are color and form and the design elements expressed are emphasis on the dark green color throughout. Overall, this pitcher gives off a calm feeling. This is my groups Franken pot. It was thrown on the wheel by me, Bayley Barnett, and Bailey Root. I threw the bottom part and since Bailey root was absent the ther days, Bailey Barnett threw the other two pieces and both Bayley and Bailey assembled the three pieces together. We glazed it teel and white however it ran in some places which gives it a unique look. The main art element is color and form and the design elements are unity. |
